Sandi Encourages Sustainable Tourism in Jakarta

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno, led the discussion of cooperation opportunities for sustainable tourism industry development at City Hall, Monday (7/2).

We want to encourage sustainable tourism industry in Jakarta in cooperation with the Tourism Ministry

The discussion itself was attended by representatives of Tourism Ministry, associations of entertainment entrepreneurs, and hotels.

Sandi said that the discussion was held to equate perceptions thus the sustainable tourism program programmed by the Central Government can be sustainable with the plans of Jakarta Provincial Government.

"We want to encourage sustainable tourism industry in Jakarta in cooperation with the Tourism Ministry," he expressed, in the meeting room of Jakarta Deputy Governor, Monday (7/2).

In the program, the role of the tourism sector is so vital. The tourism sector is deemed to have a positive impact on local people, natural environment, and economy in each destination if it is managed sustainably.

"This tourism industry has a good multiplier effect, one of them is like job creation," he said.

He at once appreciated the entrepreneurs who persistently and effortlessly invest in the tourism industry. In the future, the regulatory framework for a technology-based and digital business would be launched.

"This becomes our opportunity," he stressed.
